About The farm
Kosmo Farm is a small cut-flower farm in Richmond, Vermont. We started planning for the farm during the fall and winter of 2023-2024 and broke ground this past May. This year we’ve been focusing on setting up our field and building systems. Since we do not have any season extension equipment, our flowers will be available during the peak growing season from July through August. We aim to expand our availability in the years ahead.
We are deeply committed to environmental stewardship, a core value that guides our operations. We prioritize organic growing methods and embed sustainability into every decision we make. Our approach includes building soil health through composting, mulching, cover cropping, and the use of organic and non-GMO seeds. We reuse and repurpose whatever we can and believe our general scrappy behavior is a way of creating less waste in this world.
Farming is a way of caring for the land and creating the future we want to see. It’s an opportunity to work with what you have and carve something incredible out of it. We are so grateful to embark on this journey with your support!!
About US
Kosmo Farm is run by Kayla Strom and Tucker Levy. Since meeting 2018, we have always held onto the vision of creating a small farm business one day. This year, when provided the opportunity to grow on friend’s land, we started Kosmo Farm.
Kayla has been weaving together her love of art and agriculture since she first moved to Vermont in 2011. Growing flowers has been a place where these two passions intersect. For the past 5 years, Kayla’s work at the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) and has left her inspired by the bad-ass farms she gets to work with on a daily basis. Kayla's role at Kosmo Farm has focused on crop planning, field maintenance, and design. She also loves ceramics, with a focus on alternative firing practices. You’ll see her work featured in photos with the flowers.
Tucker loves to tinker and he can make just about anything. These days, he leads custom fabrication projects with his friends at CHC Vans and on the side he’s always helping friends and family with projects of their own. Tucker is a talented metalsmith, carpenter and systems-thinker. He takes lead on all of the infrastructural projects for the farm. His love for tinkering carries over into his love music and sound. Kayla is always trying to hide all of the wires and cables in their cabin.
